Materials Science & Metallurgy Television present:

Rules:
Two (Materials Scientist) chefs compete against each other in the kitchen, preparing meals from the ingredients brought by the guests (you). They have no idea what they will have to cook with before the competition starts - you determine the ingredients and you decide who cooks the better meal at the end.

Will it be Green-Body-Compacts or Red-ucing-Agents?

Featuring:
Helen Orchard as your host, Fern Britton
Simon Hopkins as Ainsley Harriott
Chris Shortall as Paul Rankin

Lessons learnt:
  • Potatoes take longer to cook than you think
  • Lentils take longer to cook than you think
  • Wooden handles can be hot
  • Cling-film helps burns from stinging
  • Brussel sprouts grow on trees
  • The unlabelled white powder was sugar afterall

  • The Verdict:

It was a tough decision, requiring much "mmmmmm" in a Lloyd Grossman stylee. But one dish stood out above them all - the kiwi and apple crumble.

Congratulations to Simon, and all his "choppers"!
